Alto's counter sits under the arcade's Victorian ironwork.
Alto is a small counter at 22 South Great George's Street, inside George's Street Arcade — the Victorian market hall that opened in 1881, its dark green cast-iron arches and gothic quatrefoils overhead.
The counter serves coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch, seven days a week. Sandwiches sit labelled in a glass case, with a cake case of brownies, traybakes and rocky road beside it. Dogs are welcome.
